The AI Collection

Where A Meets I

ABOUT

The AI Collection is based on my questioning whether we really need to be so obedient in the face of technology. Is it inevitable that we have to accept Artificial Intelligence? Do we have to throw it a parade to welcome it into our lives and into our children’s lives?

Do we have a say in this massive technological upheaval or not?

Artificial Intelligence is many things, including being a force for exposing our deficiencies, elbowing us right out of the way to do a better job than we can. That better job leaves us out of a job, and leaves us with even greater deficiencies than we started with. It leaves us without a voice.

I am in favor of more conversation, of more questions, of more civic engagement. I am in favor of being human and being together as humans as often as we can.

This project is a benefit for the American Library Association and its mission to support libraries and communities across the country. The ALA is 150 years old, and continues to support intellectual freedom, literacy, education, lifelong learning, the public good, diversity, equity and access, and sustainability.

I hope you will enjoy The AI Collection.

With Care,
Eva Mantell
